Dear friends,
We have come almost to the final stages of our case being heard by Sup.court. The case again came up before the Registrar on 9th May and it is again adjourned to July. Since it is vacation from 11th till July. we will get the adjourned date only later.  We will inform you once we get the same. In the meanwhile I should share some more information about the case so that pensioners who see the website and get the news updated should know the development. We have another friend from Kolkata whose case is tagged with us have not done any thing but tagging it and after waiting for some time we started doing their job and progressed to the extent of 80% and followed up with the service of notice to the Petitioners and Respondents. There are also some notices returned by our petitioners to be reserved or otherwise we should take further steps legally. Out team has gone to Kolkata and mumbai to do the same and almost succeeded in putting the ball rolling.
We are visiting Bangalore and also delhi to sort out the problems. You all should know that we have no role to play and it is for the court to do the serving business. Still we take it on our head and doing it so as to finish the formalities.
we expect the formalities will be over by July. and the case may come up for listing.
let us be patient and hear some good news.

dear friends,
Any job done with sincerety and patience will fetch good result and we have been doing the same in our Association. Thanks for the good support given by all of you.
We have got our long standing demand of one more option for the Retirees who has left our Staff mediclaim to join, is now accepted. and the circular for the same has been sent to all the offices across india.
Let us give you the details of it.
Now all those retirees who has gone out of the scheme either by default or voluntarily, can now join the scheme with their spouse and also the spouse of the deceased.
Increase or decrease of coverage of premium is also allowed in NIC (circular Issued)
But you can also approach the other companies since the fresh option is given to join, it is implied that the existing members can increase or decrease the coverage.

The above decision was preceded by our meeting the National Chairman and we also thanked the Chairman GIPSA at Chennai on 19th Jan. and he has assured us to meet in May'12.

We met the chairman National on 12th March at KOlkata and discussed the issues pending with them and he agreed to consider the same. We met Shri Brahma GM personal the same day and demanded Nimbs RBS payment and re opening of Benefit Member enrolment to Retirees. We gave representation to the Secretary NIMBS Shri Senapathy and he agreed to examine our demand.

We are taking sincere steps and we are sure we will succeed if not today, tomorrow.

We are also insisting the GIPSA to give one more option for the Retirees to come into the Staff Mediclaim scheme. We hope to get a favorable response.

We will be visiting the Head office of National insurance co.ltd during March and trying to get back the facility of Benefit Member in the Natinsure Mutual Benefit Society for the Retirees.

dear friends,
Sorry for the delay in updating the news and it is purely because of some personal work. I again apologize for the delay.

Our case came up before the Supreme court on 16th December and again adjourned to 27th of Jan 2012 for want of completing the formalities. We got worried since there is nothing pending from our side and all our petitions were transferred to Sup. Court and also the petition filed by our mumbai people. To our surprise Kolkata New india people have tagged their case with us. and the petition has not reached the supreme court. We have asked our counterpart in Kolkata to talk to the officebearers of that Assn. to speed up the whole process and we are taking all steps to see that it is completed.

Let us hope on 27th of Jan 2012 we will get our case listed.

We had discussion with our Advocate at Delhi who also have hope that it will be listed soon.

Another development in the LIC case has boosted our hope, since the management has deposited the amount, which stands due to the pensioners as per the High court Decision, in the court and gone on appeal to supreme court and the SLP filed by LIC is coming up for hearing this month.

Our sincere New year greeting to one and all and with lot of prayers for a favourable decision in our case atleast this year we end this update.

Friends,
On 21st October 2011 our case came up before Registrar of Supremecourt and after scruitiny of papers it was adjourned to 16th December 2011 with an order to the companies to file their counter affidavit before that date.
Management is availing all the opportunities to test our patience and testing our financial strenth as they did with the Dev.Officers' case. Let us wait patiently and fight the case to the end and we all hope that it will end in our favor.
All the pensioners are requested to send their PAN no. to the LIC directly so as to enable them to prepare you next batch of cheques since the RBI has made strict instructions to the LIC not to release any Annuity Cheque without the submission of PAN no.
We have taken up with the LIC to decentralise the process of sending pension to their zonal offices sothat it is easy for us to approach, in case of specific problems. as we are forced to contact only the LIC offices at Delhi, Mumbai,Kolakata and Chennai and most of the time the telephone lines are either busy or unanswered.
We are taking all possible steps to redress the grievances of pensioners and we request all the pensioners to call on us in case of any difficulty.

Dear Friends,
We had our case heard on 25th August 2011 by the Registrar of the Supreme Court and after thorough scruitiny the case was posted to 21st October 2011 giving 4 weeks time for completing the formalities. Two other cases were also tagged with our case from Kolkatka and to our surprise.
Any way we have to patiently wait for the final Trial which we expect to come up during December.

We have taken a concrete and definite step towards solving the pensioner's problem of difference in Pension between retirees of 1986 1992 1997 2002 and 2007. We have filed a case at Madurai and got admitted and the court has ordered issue of Notice to the Management. We feel if we get through this case in our favour we will put to an end to all the problems of the pensioners. We expect full co-operation from all the pensioners and also from the employees who have opted for Pension.

The Reserve Bank of India has given clear cut instructions to the LIC that all the Annuities from Jan 2012 should be released only after getting the Pan No. from the annuitants. Hence we advice all the pensioners to send their PAN no. to the LIC directly with a copy to Head Office. immedietly to avoid stoppage of Pension Cheques.

jaipur case and further developments

Dear Friends,
The Jaipur case of LIC came up for hearing on 12th Aug and adjourned to 19th August. Whatever may be the decision of the High Court, finality can be achieved only in Supreme court and we expect this to take another year.
Taking cue from the above case, we have filed a petition at Madurai High Court, pleading for the revision of Pension, whenever the Scheme is revised for the regular employees, and it is likely to come up for hearing on 19th of August 2011. We will inform you about the developments.
Organisationally we have spread our wings to Assam. More than 50 people have joined our Association, after our General Secretary visited the place with Arumainathan. The Co-ordination of the Kolkata Unit people Sri. Shamal Banerjee, Anadhi Chatterjee and Aurbindo Ganguly for arranging the meeting and the work they have done for enrolling the members, should be commended. We have now spread to all the 7 Eastern states. The meeting was quite refreshing to them and the response was so positive that we expect more people to join our fight.
Our Pune friends conducted their first General Body meeting at Pune and Our General Secretary was invited as special Guest and accompanied by Sri.E.Rajagopalan, I addressed the meeting. The members were so thankful to us for explaining them the present position of the case and how our Associtation is going to face the management in the Supreme court when it comes up for hearing.
Now we are concentrating on collection of dues towards legal fund and subscription and we appeal to all the members to send their subscription dues and additional legal fund.
with regards
NAGARAJAN
