Friends, out of the 8 cases filed on our behalf in Supreme Court for Transfer we have got notice ordered on Kerala, Chennai, Mumbai and Karnataka and the other petitions but for Kolkata came up for hearing in Supreme court on 8th December 2008, before the Chief Justice's court. The petitions which came up for hearing were of more importance since two of the petitions namely Himachal and Gujarat were already decided by the High court and appeal is pending in Division Bench of the respective courts with the case at Bhubaneswar. Hence we did'nt take any chance and again appointed Sri. L.Nageswar rao to appear for us. Our team went to Delhi on 6th Dec., 2008 and had conference with the Senior counsel Sri. L.Nageswara rao at his residence, accompanied by Adv. Sri. Dayan Krishnan, our representatilve at Delhi with Sri Parthiban Advocate from Chennai. On 8th the case listed at No.19 in court no. 1 came up for hearing at 11 am and our senior counsel was arguing another case at Court no. 2 and our representative Advocate Sri.DayanKrishnan and Chennai Advocate Sri. Parthiban started with explaining the case to the Hon'ble Chief Justice and were answering the questions posed by the Chief Justice and our Senior Cousel rushed to our Court after finishing at Court No. 2 and to our relief joined Sri Dayan and Parthiban and made his presence felt by placing the facts precisely and the moment the Chief saw our Senior Counsel, ordered for notice and also gave interim relief (Stay). We were relieved and now we are another step ahead and will have a final hearing during end of February or beginning of March 2009.

Friends, be prepared for the final assault and your assistance in Finance is the most needed one and of course the Moral support.

It is happily learnt that our Gen.secy with his other office bearers have met CMD, GM of UIIC to make a request to allow all pensioners in UIIC to convert their individual account to joint account for some conveniences. It is also happy to note that UIIC has agreed to recommend the same to LIC to implement.

It is happily learnt that our Gen.Secy with some office bearers met CMD, GM of UIIC to accept them in converting the individual account of all pensioners to joint account for some conveniences. It is also happy to note that UIIC also has immediately agreed to send a letter to LIC to implement the same. Good job indeed.
